COB

It is the cob obtained from certain varieties of corn, which is consumed as a vegetable. The mature corn grain is made up of four basic structures: the pericarp, the testa, the endosperm and the embryo. Each corn stalk must produce at least one large cob. It has a characteristic sweet taste from which it derives its name.
